Message for the Tuesday and Thursday L3 groups

Dear students,

Here is the revision plan for the exams scheduled for January 08th and January 10th :

1/ All the idiomatic expressions since the beginning of the semester

2// Yunus Interview + the Bonsai Tree / Tony Blair and Slavery / Remembering Famine in Ukraine / The Business of Genetic Ancestry / Immigration Policy in Australia

3/ Vocabulary

4/ There will also be an unknown report : listen as much as you can to improve your listening comprehension : listen to reports from the BBC, ABC, PBS, etc.

As said earlier, there will not be any "contrĂ´le final", the factor/coefficient for this exam in January will be 3 (for the previous in-class exam, the factor/coefficient was 2)

Message for the three students from the Thursday group

This message is ONLY for the three students from the Thursday group who claimed they could not attend the first exam last week because of the strike. As I told you, this take-home assignment will not count like the exam we had last week. Instead of factor 2, it will count factor/coefficient 1. The factor/coefficient applied for the next exam scheduled in January will be 3. This assignment is due for our next session on December 20th. You can email it to me before December 20th if you cannot come to class. It can be word-processed or hand-written.

Instructions :

  • basic agreement rules (there were students, they are, she was / no plural forms for adjective, etc.)
  • capitalization for nationalities (adjectives and nouns)
  • no contracted forms : "is not" instead of "isn't" / "are not" instead of "aren't"/ "cannot" instead of "can't", etc.

6/ Deadlines : December 19th midnight if emailed or you can hand in it to me personaly on December 20th. No paper will be accepted after the class on December 20th.


RECOMMANDATIONS :

- DO THIS EXERCICE ON YOUR OWN !

- DO NOT CUT AND PASTE FROM ANOTHER CLASSMATE'S WORK !

DO NOT ASK AN ENGLISH TUTOR TO DO THIS EXERCISE !
