ATTENDANCE RULES / GRADING POLICY

Dear students,

Attendance is compulsory: unlike in L2 and in M1, there is no "contrôle final" in L3 because the English course is optional in L3. Should the students be absent 3 times (ie 2 + 1) without providing a valid and sincere justification, they are automatically excluded from the English class which means they will not have any grades at all in English even if they had taken part in some of the exams during the semester.

In case you fail to be present for a class session (for justified or unjustified reason), you will have to do all the exercises from a unit/chapter of your choice from the grammar textbook (English Grammar in Use by Raymond Murphy). You will have to hand in these exercises the following class otherwise you will get a zero mark that will be added to all your other grades. This assignment must be handwritten NOT typed.

If you have no valid and sincere justification for your possible absence for the short tests and  short quizzes that will also take place during the semester, you will get a zero mark.

There will be no catch-up session whatsoever if you miss the first and/or the second main exam.

Best regards,

MN
