SECOND MAIN EXAM AND VOCAB TEST: REMINDERS

Dear students, 

As said and repeated last weeks, the program for this SECOND MAIN EXAM on May 17 or May 19 (depending on the group you belong to) will cover the following topics: 
  • Idioms
    • CAT / HORSE / MONKEY / ARM / EYE / HEAD / FISH / LEG / FOOT / BEAN / FRUIT / PIE / VEGETABLES / RED / SILVER / PIG / GOLD / BIRD 
  • Listening Comprehension
    • Remembering Famine in Ukraine
    • Sicko 
    • Spanglish 
    • A Nuanced History of Jamestwon
  • Vocabulary
    • Remembering Famine in Ukraine
    • Sicko 
    • Spanglish 
    • NO VOCABULARY FROM "A Nuanced History of Jamestwon", there will be a test on it next week
  • Grammar: everything done during the second semester (including the "wish" and "if" structures)
There will be a SHORT TEST on May 24 or May 26 (depending on the group you belong to):
  • Vocabulary
    • Remembering Famine in Ukraine
    • Sicko 
    • Spanglish 
    • A Nuanced History of Jamestwon
  •  False Friends: ex 1, 2, 3 and 4
 OTHER REMINDERS: 
  • THERE WILL BE NO CATCH-UP SESSION WHATSOEVER EVEN IF YOU HAVE A VALID AND SINCERE JUSTIFICATION.
  • You are strictly forbidden to switch groups, I will remove up to 10 points if you switch groups without my explicit and prior agreement for which you will have to provide me with a genuine and sincere justification.
  • Should some students be absent 3 times (ie 2 + 1) without providing a valid and sincere justification, they are automatically excluded from the English class, which means they will not have any grades at all in English even if they had taken part in some of the exams during the semester. 
  •  In case you fail to be present for a class session (for justified or unjustified reason), you will have to do all the exercises from a unit/chapter of your choice from the grammar textbook (English Grammar in Use by Raymond Murphy). You will have to hand in these exercises the following class otherwise you will get a zero. This assignment must be handwritten NOT typed.
  • Here is the link all L3 students (Tuesday and Thursday groups) will have to use to find the documents (audio reports, phrasal verbs, vocabulary, etc.) used and discussed during the class sessions.
